Overall objectives:
* Improved policymaking on trade and development in ACP countries;

Strengthened regional integration and furthered integration into the world economy;
* Sustainable development and poverty reduction.
Specific objective:
enhance the capacity of five East and Southern African (ESA) High Education Institutes (HEI) to provide quality training and carry out policy-relevant research in line with current trade and development challenges.
Main activities:
* Intensive training courses for the teaching staff, students and researchers of the institutes.
Training covers trade and development topics with a focus on the qualitatives and quantitative aspects of Trade integration, Development and Policy Processes.
* Disseminate modules & lessons, exchange of course-related materials
* Visiting lectures
* Plan & implement coordination meetings: December 7-8, Mauritius
* Tri-annual network teleconferences
* Research collaboration & thesis supervision
* Student traineeships are offered traineeship which expose them to trade and development policy-making practise
