The ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly was created out of a common desire to bring together the elected representatives of the European Community - the Members of the European Parliament - and the elected representatives of the African, Caribbean and Pacific states ("ACP countries") that have signed the Cotonou Agreement: it is the only institution of its kind in the world.

The Agritrade website aims primarily at keeping ACP stakeholders abreast of the latest developments in agricultural trade negotiations and providing them with an understanding of the key issues (Economic Partnership Agreements, WTO agriculture negotiations, reform of the EU Common Agricultural Policy, Market Access, Food safety, Commodities, ACP-EU fisheries trade relations, etc.). It provides regular updates and non partisan analysis of the implications of these trade issues for ACP countries which contributes to improving their capacity to effectively participate in these trade negotiations.

BizClim - ACP Business Climate - making the ACP countries a better place for doing business
The Private Sector Enabling Environment Facility (PSEEF) is an EU funded initiative under the Cotonou Agreement.
A joint initiative of the European Commission and the ACP Group financed under the European Development Fund that aims to address structural weaknesses that hamper the development of the economies of the ACP States, notably those impeding the development of the private sector.

Centre for the Development of Enterprise

The mission assigned to the CDE under the Cotonou Agreement is to contribute to poverty reduction by fostering wealth creation by lending support to the various types of operator that make up the private sector in the ACP countries; in this role it draws extensively on the capabilities of enterprises in EU countries.

PROINVEST Management Unit

Pro€Invest is a EU-ACP (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific) States partnership programme developed and undertaken by the European Commission on behalf of the ACP countries. Its implementation has been entrusted to a Management Unit within the Centre for the Development of Enterprise (CDE) which manage the programme. Pro€Invest , which has a budget of 110 million EURO, is financed by the European Development Fund (EDF) and will end on 31 December 2008.

Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA)

The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) was established in 1983 under the Lomé Convention between the ACP (African, Caribbean and Pacific) Group of States and the European Union Member States. Since 2000, CTA has operated within the framework of the ACP-EC Cotonou Agreement. CTA's tasks are to develop and provide services that improve access to information for agricultural and rural development, and to strengthen the capacity of ACP countries to produce, acquire, exchange and utilise information in this area.

TradeCom Facility
The TradeCom Programme also referred to as the TradeCom Facility, is an ACP Group Programme of 50 million Euros financed by the European Development Fund.
The TradeCom Programme was established to provide and coordinate assistance to ACP countries in this context. It aims at consolidating, and even creating, where absent, the necessary capacity that would enable them to craft trade policies, with a view to achieve sustainable development and balanced societies. The Programme therefore intends to develop capacity within the ACP countries and regions and to provide intellectual expertise to help them to devise their own development-oriented trade policies, as well as to formulate effective negotiation strategies on trade matters.
